About the Symposium
We are now facing the tremendous pressure and environmental concerns of coal utilization in the 21st century. China is the largest coal producer and consumer in the world, and has been the largest CO2 emission country. China's coal consumption in 2013 was 3.75 billion tons, in which over 50% was consumed for power generation. By the end of 2013, total installed capacity of coal-fired power units was 862,380 MWe, the largest in the world accounting for 69.1 % of China's total installed power capacity. Therefore, clean coal technology, especially low carbon emission technology for coal combustion is particularly significant for China as well as for the whole
International Symposium on Coal Combustion sponsored and organized by Tsinghua University has been successfully held for seven times since 1987 and is now going to the 8th which will be held in July 2015.We sincerely wish to invite all experts /scholars from both academe and industry around the globe, who are involved in clean coal combustion and low carbon emission for coal utilization to provide solutions for the future. The Symposium is offering a platform for scientists and engineers to exchange their information and ideas on the science and technology of coal combustion as well as related issues and to find new partnership in the growing market of China.
